...more...]]> This Tuesday night, Oct. 11, is the book launch party at Once Upon A Crime for the fourth Birder Murder mystery titled “Falcon Finale.” I’m really excited about it, since I’ve been inviting all sorts of folks to stop in: readers, birders, U of MN Raptor Center staffers, National Eagle Center pals, friends, family, librarians, media folk. With each new book, I feel like my world is expanding as I meet new experts to help me out with research, not to mention the new readers I’m meeting at appearances and book signings.

If you’ve never been to Once Upon A Crime, you’re in for a treat – literally and figuratively. Pat and Gary, the store owners, are the nationally-recognized awesome hosts, and they’ve got the Raven itself on their shelf to prove it!  This past spring, OUAC was honored with the Raven Award by the Mystery Writers of America for “outstanding achievement in the  mystery field outside the realm of creative writing.” Be sure to check out the black statue in the shop when you come for the party. And please don’t feed the bird!

...more...]]> It’s a new month and I’ve got two big launches: Luce’s blog, titled “Me, Bobby, and the birds”  is now up at www.cooksleepbird.blogspot.com and the fourth book in the Bob White Birder Murder Mystery series is on the press and expected to be shipping in a few more days. That means I’m into marketing mode. I had a nice chat this afternoon with Chef Tom and Business Tom at Millie’s Deli in Chanhassen, doing some brainstorming for booksigning events in the months ahead. I have a soft spot for Millie’s breakfasts…and lunches…and dinners..and my books have been on display in the dining room there for years now. In fact, I’m writing some of Millie’s staff into the fifth Birder Murder which is already taking shape on my word processor. Stay tuned for upcoming events!

...more...]]> I’m really excited about my newest venture in relation to the Bob White Birder Murder Mysteries – beginning September 1, 2011, Bob’s girlfriend Luce Nilsson is going to be posting her own blog! That way, readers can keep up with what happens to Bob and his friends in between the books. Rumor has it that not only will Luce tell some stories about life with Bob and post bird photos, but she’ll also toss in a recipe every now and then. Stay tuned for the blog address….
