I just realized I didn’t post any blog for July! My excuse is that I was wrapped up with Birder Murder books – finishing the first draft of the third book in the series and beginning the marketing for the second book, “Murder on Warbler Weekend,” which debuts September 1. If you take a look at my events column, you’ll see some of the fruit of my work: I’ve got some big book events coming up this fall. Marketing, I’ve discovered in the past year, is one of the biggest tasks for a new author. It takes a lot of phone and email time, patience and perseverance. The payoff, though, is well worth it, since it ultimately connects me with you, my readers. I hope to see many of you ...more...

Bob White returns!

Bob White returns in his second Birder Murder Mystery adventure in “Murder on Warbler Weekend,” now available for pre-ordering (at a discount!) on Amazon.com or Barnes&Noble.com. I checked out the listings, and since it won’t be published till late August, there’s no photo of the cover yet (it’s almost done) or a description of the book. So here’s a sneak preview for you: Bob takes his mom birding for Mother’s Day to find warblers, but instead, they find (you guessed it!) a body. When Bob learns that the deceased is the mother of one of his students, he can’t keep himself from getting pulled into the murder investigation, which gets tangled up with local politics, an enthusiastic parent with a Bigmouth Bass hat, and gambling addictions.
